Description

These barns, located about 50 metres south of Gore Street Farmhouse, date from the 16th and 18th centuries. They are timber framed on a flint base and are weather boarded with a corrugated iron roof. The structure features a hipped roof with a hipped midstrey. Inside, there are three bays with aisles and passing shores to the arcade posts. The roof is a clasped purlin design with wind braces, and there has been little replacement of timbers. An early 18th-century barn is recessed to the right, consisting of six bays with aisles. The roof above the tie beam level has been removed, and it is also clad with weather board and a corrugated iron roof.
