Description
No. 17 on Hope's Lane is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick in English bond, with the rear elevations painted, and features a plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, set on a plinth, with boxed eaves. The roof is gabled to the left and has a segmentally pedimented shaped gable to the right. There are stacks at both ends of the building and two hipped dormers. On the first floor, there are three sash windows, and on the ground floor, two 19th-century cross windows with segmentally headed surrounds in stock brick. The central gabled porch has panelled round-headed double doors. This house is likely the original Northwood Farmhouse.
