Description
Office block and retaining walls, built around 1865 by Edward Welby Pugin. Constructed from stock brick with red brick details and topped with a slate roof, this two-storey office features a gabled roof and a central stack. Each floor has four segmental metal casements, and there is a half-glazed door in a porch on the left gable end, accompanied by a rounded over and lozenge-shaped plaque to the left of the door. A seven-foot-high retaining wall, arranged on two levels, runs along the roadside and returns to the front (south) of the site. The site also includes three gate piers, which are 20th century and not included in the listing. The structure is noted for its group value.
