Description
The Coachhouse is a stable block built around the 1840s, designed by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin. It is constructed of stone and features a slate roof with hexagonal slates. The building has a rectangular shape with a gable end facing Green Lane and includes a small porch with a parallel gable at the front, which faces Woolton Road. The rear of the structure has two large half-glazed doors and a central entrance that features a four-canted head with a square pitching eye above. There are three round ventilating holes on each side of the pitching eyes, although these have been blocked since 1984. The building also includes raking dormers on both the front and rear, as well as a cross-axial stack. The porch has a pointed entrance with paired panelled doors and a gable cross.
