Description
The Gatehouse is a lodge dating to the 1840s, designed by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin. It is built of stone with a slate roof featuring hexagonal slates. The building is one storey with an attic, and has an L-shaped plan with a porch under a lean-to roof situated in an angle. The gable end facing the street features a three-light window on the ground floor and a two-light window in the attic. A gabled bay to the left has an end stack incorporating a plaque with entwined initials "HS". The entrance is adorned with a Tudor arched head.
A rear extension with a two-light window in the attic is also present. The building holds group value.
