Description
Nos. 7, 9, and 11 Paradise is a row of houses built in the 18th century. They are constructed of painted brick and have a plain tiled roof. The buildings are two storeys tall, with an attic and a basement set on a flint plinth. They feature a plat band and a moulded wooden eaves cornice, along with kneelered parapet gables, three hipped dormers, and chimney stacks at the rear left and right.
Each house has a sash window on the left and two glazing bar sashes on each floor, with basement openings in the plinth. The doors consist of six raised and fielded panels, with the top two panels glazed on the left and centre right, and a fully glazed door on the end right. Paradise was a popular residence for retired sea captains in the late 18th century, which likely inspired its name. The houses are also marked on plans of Ramsgate from 1735 and 1822.
