Description

This is a barn, which was once a cottage, located 15 yards south of Silver Street Farmhouse in Bredgar. It dates back to the 17th century and features a timber frame clad with weatherboarding and a plain tiled roof. The roof is hipped, with a stack on the left side and a hipped mid-stray. The road front has a corrugated iron pentice and above it are two glazing bar sash windows, indicating that this end was once used as a cottage. Inside, the barn has four bays with aisles and a clasped purlin roof supported by queen struts and wind bracing.
