Description

The Church of St Saviour, built in 1885, is a prefabricated tin church with an elaborate design. It was constructed as one of two mission churches under the Parish Church of St Mary of Charity. The church features a cruciform plan with a four-bay nave that includes trefoliated lancets. The transepts are of a lower elevation. The floor is adorned with elaborate cresting and a finial. At the west end, there is a bellcote with a spire and trefoliated arches. The gable ends have decorative bargeboards, and there is a south gabled porch that also features cresting and bargeboard. This church is noted for being an unusually elaborate and complete example of its type.
