Description
Dairy Court, an estate house and courtyard at Lees Court, was built around 1790 by Sir John Soane. It features red brick construction and a slated roof. The estate offices are two storeys high, set on a plinth with box eaves beneath a hipped roof, and a stack positioned to the right. The first floor has nine small glazing bar sash windows with gauged heads, while the ground floor has six semi-circular headed glazing bar sashes in gauged and rebated surrounds. There are three half-glazed doors with semi-circular fanlights in double rebated surrounds, located to the left, centre, and right, each accessed by a flight of three steps with iron handrails.
The dairy building in the rear courtyard has been significantly altered; it is square in plan with low single-storey side wings and wooden casements. The interior features panelling. The courtyard entrance is marked by a gauged elliptical arch topped with a large pediment. The walls to the left, which connect with the stables, are eight feet high and include carriage entrances, with large piers topped by ball finials.
