Description

Hall Cottage is a 16th-century house with a timber frame and exposed plaster infill, topped with a plain tiled roof. It features a Wealden hall house plan consisting of four framed bays and stands two storeys high on a plinth. The building has jetties on the left side and underbuilt jetties on the right. There is a flying wall plate supported by arched braces, and the roof is hipped with stacks located to the centre left, rear left, and end right. On the first floor, there are three mullioned windows, while the ground floor has two leaded lights. A notable feature is the four-light, two-tier hall window on the centre right. The entrance is marked by a boarded door located to the centre left, set within a four-centred arched surround that has enriched spandrels.
