Colbrahamsole Farmhouse And Garden Wall

Colbrahamsole Farmhouse is a house dating from the 15th and 18th centuries. It is timber framed and clad with red brick, featuring exposed close studding with plaster infill on the right side. The roof is plain tiled and hipped, with a parapet and stacks located at the left end, centre left, and a projecting stack at the right end. The house is a hall house with two wings at the rear and stands two storeys high on a plinth.

On the first floor, there are four segmental-headed glazing bar sash windows, while the ground floor has three. The entrance door, located to the centre left, consists of six panels with the top two being glazed. It has a moulded surround and a fluted frieze beneath a flat hood supported by brackets. The right side features a continuous jetty supported by dragon posts on flint footings, along with one three-light and one five-light beaded ovolo mullioned window, and a small gabled pigeon loft attached.

At the rear left, there is a truncated projecting and offset stack made of flint, with tumbled-in brickwork and the base of moulded star-shaped flues, alongside a 19th-century bread oven projecting at the base. Inside, the house has a crown post roof with smoke-blackened timbers. The brickwork and a timber in the kitchen are dated 1749, and there is a window dated 1729.
