Description

This is an oasthouse and oasts located 30 yards southwest of Batteries, dating from the early 19th century. One of the roundels is dated 1830 and marked by a stone plaque. The central stowage is weatherboarded and features a plain tiled roof. To the right, there are two roundels made of yellow stock brick, each with modillion eaves cornices and plain tiled conical roofs topped with lanterns. To the left, there is a square yellow stock oast with a slate pyramid roof. The central stowage has a double span gabled roof, triangular leaded wood casements in the gables, a triangular-headed central loft door, and three irregularly placed slatted openings.
