Description
Vicarage Farmhouse is a house dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. It features a timber-framed and close-studded structure with a wing made of chequered red and blue brick, topped with a plain tiled roof. The building now consists of two bays, which are remnants of a larger structure. It stands two storeys high on a brick plinth, with the left bay jettied at the first floor and the right bay constructed of brick with a plat band. The roof is hipped to the right, and there are 17th-century offset projecting stacks at the left end and at the rear right. The first floor has three wood casements, while the ground floor features a segmental bay on the left and a glazing bar sash to the right, accompanied by a central 20th-century frame-panelled door. There are later 16th-century additions to the rear. Inside, the house has plain chamfered beams, and a plain crown-post braced to the tie beam suggests an early 16th-century date.
