Description

25 Court Street is an L-shaped house that dates back to the early 16th century, although it was refronted in the 18th century. The building retains the overhang of its first floor supported by a bressummer and brackets, with exposed studding visible in the north wall. It has two storeys and an attic, featuring two windows and two dormers. The front is finished in stucco and has a moulded eaves cornice, with a steeply pitched tiled roof. On the first floor, there are two small bays, and on the ground floor to the left, there is one bay where the windows have mostly been altered to casement windows, except for one case which retains a three-light sash window. The dormers are fitted with casement windows that have small square-headed panes and old green glass. The west wing is a 16th-century timber-framed structure with plaster infilling in squares. Nos 17 to 25 Court Street form a group.
