Description

The property at 69 and 71 South Road dates from the early 19th century. It is a two-storey building with an attic and basement, presenting a four-window façade. The roof is slate-covered, with two flat-roofed dormers. The front of the building is constructed of white brick, with painted rubbed brick voussoirs above the windows. The windows have frames; the outer windows have three panes, and the inner windows have four panes. The ground-floor windows were originally fitted with shutters, which are now missing from number 71. The doorways are round-headed, with painted voussoirs and feature six-panelled doors topped with semi-circular fanlights containing tracery.
