Description
Froghole Farmhouse is a timber-framed building dating from the 16th century or earlier. The east elevation features a left section that is one storey and has an attic under a cross gable, while the right section is lower due to the slope of the hill and consists of two storeys under a ridge roof. The roofs are tiled and steeply pitched, with a coupled stack located below the ridge in the center. There is a projecting low gable made of coursed rubble on the right, topped with a tall brick chimney. The facade has three windows, mostly 19th-century one-bar casements, and the exposed timber framing is filled with plaster.
The west elevation has three storeys and an attic on the right under a hipped gable, which is tile-hung and features replaced casements. The left part is one storey with an attic, faced in brick and resting on a random rubble foundation. It includes two gabled dormers and a central jettied attic supported by exposed old beams, which may have once served as a loading port.
