Description

Larksfield is a late 19th-century house built in 1877 for Octavia Hill, the housing reformer and founder member of the National Trust. She gifted several acres of woodland in the surrounding area. The house is one storey and attic, with three windows, the upper ones set within gable ends. It features a tiled roof with a Tudor-style chimney. The first floor is tile hung, while the ground floor is of random rubble with red brick dressings. The windows are leaded casements. A flat, bracketed hood shelters the central front door, and to the right of the door is a small lead relief depicting an angel playing a lute.
