Description
Ide Hill Junior School is a 1-storey building constructed in 1852 by G. E. Street. It has a shallow U-shape, with each gabled wing featuring a large window set under a pointed relieving arch, which includes a tile-hung tympanum and four round-headed, transomed lights. The inner returns of the wings have lean-tos that hold doors beneath pointed arches. The building is made of random rubble masonry, with stone dressings on the right wing and red brick on the left. It has high-pitched tiled roofs. The central section contains three grouped, three-light double-transome windows, and all door and window dressings are made of stone. There are domestic quarters located behind in a narrower parallel span, as well as later rear additions at the south end.
