Description
The Old Vicarage is now a private house, originally built in the early 19th century with later additions from the 19th century. The entrance front features two storeys and two windows, constructed from galleted squared rubble masonry with sandy brick dressings. It has a low pitched hipped slate roof with boarded eaves soffit.
To the left, there is a two-storey, two-window extension; the lower part matches the main house while the upper section, likely an afterthought, is made of red brick with blue headers. Further left is another late 19th-century two-storey, two-window extension in galleted squared rubble with red brick dressings. The older section has square paned casement windows with Gothic tracery, while the later part features sash windows with glazing bars.
The entrance includes a part glazed panelled door set in a panelled reveal, framed by a doorcase with round columns, fluted capitals, and an entablature. The rear elevations are similar in style. There are later 18th-century canted bays on the south and east sides. Inside, the house retains much original woodwork with Gothic ornamentation and fireplaces.
