Description

This is an early 19th century house, originally built with three storeys and three windows, now divided into two dwellings. It is located on The Green in Brasted. The house is constructed of red brick with a decorative pattern of blue headers. It has a low-pitched hipped roof covered in slate, with eaves soffits. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set beneath gauged flat brick arches. A brick plinth runs along the base of the building. The front door to Swaylands has six panels and a top glazed section, with narrow pilasters and a bracketed hood. The front door to Swaylands Cottage is flush and also sits under a similar hood. The building forms a group with Swaylands Cottage (No 7), No 1 The Green, The Old Manor House, No 5 The Green, and the nearby pump.
