Description
Rectory Lodge is an early 18th-century building located on the south side of High Street in Brasted. It stands two storeys high and features five windows. The building has a high-pitched, swept roof that is hipped on the right side and has been renewed with machine tiles, which include three large modern dormers. The exterior is constructed of blue brick with red brick used for window dressings, quoins, a band, and a plinth. The 19th-century sash windows are set within 18th-century exposed frames and are topped with gauged brick arches. Access to the lodge is via six stone steps leading to a six-panel door, which is framed with a moulded surround and a fanlight above. The doorcase is adorned with half-columns that support entablatures featuring a fluted frieze and an open pedimented hood. Rectory Lodge is part of a group that includes The White House.
