Description
This is an 18th-century, two-storey house that has been converted into three separate premises. The exterior is rough cast and features a plinth, a horizontal band, projecting boarded eaves and gutter, and a ridge tile roof with three 19th-century dormers. There are end stacks. The ground floor now houses Westminster Bank and M L Maudsley’s premises, with modern projecting shop fronts featuring a flat lead roof. To the left is Roughwood, accessed via an 18th-century panelled door with a rectangular light above, incorporating Regency Gothic tracery, sheltered by a projecting bracketed hood. One 19th-century sash window with vertical and horizontal bars is visible in an exposed frame. The first floor has four 18th-century sash windows, also in exposed frames with bars. The building is part of a group that includes Streatfield House, various retail premises, Mount Cottage, and other buildings and walls.
