Description
The Ebenezer Chapel is a non-conformist chapel built in 1808, featuring a late 19th-century gable end. The exterior is weather boarded with a brick gable end facing the street and has a slate roof. The gable end includes brick modillions and kneelers. The side elevation has an original 12-pane sash window set in reveals, along with a doorcase that has a flat wooden hood supported by brackets and double doors with two panels. At the rear, there is a lower elevation lean-to vestry with a half-glazed door.
Inside the chapel, the roof is of the arched brace type, complemented by a wooden cornice and pilasters. There is a hexagonal pulpit with stick balusters, reused oak floorboards, and some fixed original benches. A wall tablet commemorates Thomas Chandler, the pastor who died in 1866. The vestry contains an original two-panelled door, a corner cupboard, and benches.
