Description
The former White Horse Inn, located at 64 High Street in Edenbridge, is a building that dates back to the 16th century or earlier. It has two storeys and two windows on the left side, which was refronted in the 18th century when a two-storey, five-window section was added to the right. The building features a very high pitched tiled roof with a rebuilt ridge stack on the left and a hipped tiled roof on the right. The front is made of painted brick, with a first-floor band and a rendered plinth. There is a cornice band and parapet on the left, while the right side has an eaves cornice.
On the first floor of the left section, there are 19th-century four-light casement windows under segmental brick arches. The ground floor has three 19th-century casements alternating with half-glazed doors, all beneath a dentil cornice. The right section has sash windows with glazing bars in exposed moulded frames, with the ground floor windows being segment-headed. There is a signboard on an iron bracket above the yard entrance on the right. At the back, there is an early 19th-century tall rear extension of two storeys with three windows, featuring large sash windows with glazing bars in exposed moulded frames.
The building is part of a group that includes Nos 58 to 66A (even) and the outbuildings to No 64.
