Description

Nos 46 and 48 High Street are a pair of buildings dating from the 16th century or earlier, with a later extension likely from the 17th century. Each building is two storeys tall and has two windows. They feature a high-pitched tiled roof that is hipped on the left side, with a shortened ridge stack. The first floor is decorated with fancy tile hanging, and there is a rendered plinth at the base. The buildings have various casement windows, including a leaded iron window from the 18th century on the right side of the first floor of No 48. No 46 has a plank door, while No 48 has a modern glazed door flanked by reproduction oriel shop windows. Nos 44 to 48 form a cohesive group.
