Description

The wall and entrance gate to Chiddingstone Castle is an early 19th-century structure located on the south side of High Street in Chiddingstone. It features square stone piers with ornamental carved and moulded stone "Gothic" abaci, which support screen walls made of local ashlar stonework topped with moulded coping. The entrance is adorned with ornamental cast and wrought iron gates that include a monogram above. This gateway is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 4 (consecutive), No 6, The Castle Inn, and the Gate to Chiddingstone Castle.
