Description

Church Cottage is a late 17th century timber-framed cottage located on Vicarage Hill in Westerham. The building has two storeys and features two windows, although it has undergone some alterations. It has a high-pitched, half-hipped tiled gambrel roof with a rebuilt central chimney. The gable ends and the first floor at the front are tile hung, while the ground floor is largely rebuilt in brick. On the left side and at the back, the original timber framing is visible, showcasing long, thin diagonal braces with later whitewashed brick filling. The foundation consists of large random rubble with red brick quoins. The cottage has iron casements, some of which are original. Additionally, there is a modern one-storey extension to the east that includes an entrance.
