Description
Nos 27 to 31 on High Street in Seal include a butcher's shop at No 27, which is attached to the end of a 15th-century hall house that has 18th-century and later alterations, forming Nos 29 and 31. The roof of Nos 29 and 31 has been renewed with machine tiles. No 27 is a single-storey building with a ridge tile roof and a modern projecting tiled canopy in front, supported by curved angle brackets. Nos 29 and 31, which serve as a private house, feature painted brick and tile-hung elevations that conceal an older framed structure. This part of the building is two storeys high with a hip tiled roof, eaves, and gutter. It has 19th-century casement windows and a central gabled half-dormer, along with a modern projecting tiled porch.
