Description
River Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the 17th century or earlier. It has a timber frame, with the ground floor finished in painted brick laid in stretcher bond and the first floor rendered. The left gable end is weatherboarded on both floors, and it features a plain tile roof. The building is two storeys high, with the left half jettied and the right half possibly having an underbuilt jetty. The roof is hipped, and there is a projecting buff brick stack at the left gable end, along with another stack on the left side of the central rear wing. The fenestration is irregular, consisting of four casements—three of which are two-light and one is a fixed light. The door has four fielded panels and two top lights, situated under a flat bracketed hood at the left end of the right half. There is a central rear wing and a rear lean-to on the left. The interior has not been inspected.
