Description

Old Cyder House Cottages is a row of houses that was originally a cider house, dating from the late 18th century, with an early 19th-century addition on the right. The ground floor of the left section is made of roughly coursed and galleted stone with brick dressings, while the first floor of the left section and the entire right section are constructed from chequered red and grey brick. The building has a plain tile roof and consists of two storeys and an attic, with the left section sitting on a galleted stone plinth and the right section on a brick plinth. The roof is gabled, featuring projecting brick gable end stacks and a brick ridge stack at the right end of the left section. There is one small gabled dormer. The windows are arranged irregularly, with three 2-light casements: one at each end of the left section (possibly with a blocked window between) and one in the centre of the shorter right section. The ground-floor windows have splayed rubbed brick voussoirs. There are three half-glazed doors with flat bracketed hoods; one for No. 3 to the left of centre, one for No. 2 to the right of centre in the left section, and one for No. 1 towards the centre of the right section. A rear lean-to is also present. The interior has not been inspected.
