Description

This is a ha-ha located in the grounds of Vinters, approximately 120 yards north of Grove Lodge. It dates from the 18th century and is constructed from coursed, squarely cut, nearly ashlared blocks of stone, featuring some moulded coping. The ha-ha forms the west side of the south-east entrance drive and does not have a ditch. For the first 3 yards, it stands about 2 feet high, increasing to 5 feet in height thereafter. It curves to the south-west and then west for a total distance of about 26 yards, without a ditch, and it terminates at the former south gateway, which it approaches via a ramp. This structure is part of the ha-ha that once encircled Vinters.
