Description

The ha-ha in the grounds of Vinters dates from the 18th century. It is constructed from small oblong blocks of evenly-cut stone, currently uncoped and standing about 5 feet tall. The top of the ditch is approximately 5 feet below the top of the wall. The structure runs south for about 205 yards from a point approximately 53 yards north-west of East Lodge, gradually curving towards the west. At the southern end, it curves north-west for about 3 yards to form the east side of the south-east entrance drive, where it tapers down to a height of about one foot. This ha-ha is part of what once encircled Vinters.
