Description
Barkers Cottages, comprising Nos. 1, 2, and 3, Dean Street, East Farleigh, is a house row dating from the 18th century. The ground floor is constructed of chequered red and grey brick, while the first floor is pebbledashed. The roof is covered in plain tiles, with a half-hipped design and a brick stack positioned on the front slope to the left of centre. A rendered projecting stack is visible at the right gable end. There are three hipped dormers in the attic. The windows are arranged irregularly, with one two-light casement to the left and two three-light casements. A half-glazed door is located at the left end (leading to No. 1, Sunset), a ribbed door slightly to the right of the stack (leading to No. 2, Pleasant), and a door towards the right end (leading to No. 3, Conifers). A lean-to extension is present to the right and to the rear. No. 3 was formerly known as Dalecarlia. The building rests on a stone plinth. The interior has not been inspected.
