Description
Gate House Farmhouse and Number 1 Gate House is a 17th century or earlier farmhouse that has been converted into a house and office. It features a timber frame with weatherboarding on the first floor. The ground floor has a rendered left end and a painted brick right end, topped with a plain tile roof. The building stands two storeys high on a stone plinth, with a gable end jetty on the left side. The roof is hipped to the left with a gablet and half-hipped to the right. A multiple brick ridge stack is located to the left of the center. The windows are arranged irregularly, including a blank area on the left, a small rectangular window to the left of the stack, a three-light gabled window through a dormer to the right of the stack, and a two-light casement towards the right end. There is a boarded door under the stack and a half-glazed door towards the right end. A rear lean-to is present, along with a timber-framed rear wing on the left, which also has a multiple brick ridge stack. The interior has not been inspected. This building was formerly known as the New Inn.
