Description
Martins Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. The ground floor features a chequered pattern of red and grey brick, while the first floor is timber framed, showcasing exposed close-studding made of thin scantling and two tension braces. The right gable end of the first floor is tile-hung. The building has two storeys, an attic, and a cellar, all resting on a high chamfered chequered red and grey brick plinth. It has a half-hipped roof with a central brick ridge stack and two hipped dormers. The windows are arranged irregularly and consist of three 2-light casements. There is a central panelled door set within a broad 20th-century timber-framed porch, which is accessed by five brick steps. At the rear, there is a lean-to and a short rear wing towards the centre. The interior has not been inspected.
