Description
Hunton Place is a house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with later alterations in the 18th century and 20th century. The ground floor features painted brick in Flemish bond, while the first floor is rendered. It has a plain tile roof and stands two storeys high with an attic on a brick plinth. The wooden eaves cornice has paired Ionic modillions that extend slightly beyond the gable end on the right. The roof is half-hipped with swept eaves, and there are gable end stacks, with the left stack projecting. A central hipped dormer is present, and the front has a regular arrangement of three windows, which are 12-pane sashes set in open boxes. There are two canted bays added in the 20th century on the ground floor. The central entrance features a half-glazed door with a rectangular late 18th-century fanlight, framed by an architrave of panelled pilasters and a flat consoled corniced hood supported by paired Ionic modillions. A lean-to structure is located at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
