Description
This barn, located about 15 meters west-southwest of Slaney Place, dates from the early 19th century. It is timber-framed and weatherboarded, topped with a plain tile roof. The structure consists of five timber-framed bays and features an aisle to the north, built at right angles to the road. The roof is half-hipped, with central full-height double doors on the south side and a central porch that has a hipped roof extending from the aisle. There is also a lean-to addition on the east gable end.
Inside, the barn showcases cut jowls on the principal posts, arch-braced tie-beams, and unjowled king struts with straight braces supporting the principal rafters. The roof features staggered butt purlins. The aisle also has cut jowls on the wall posts and a staggered butt purlin roof, with early 19th-century studding. This barn is included for its group value.
