Description
Fern Cottage and Amber Cottage are a pair of houses dating from the late 18th century, possibly incorporating an earlier structure. They are timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with a plain tile roof. The buildings stand two stories high on a rendered plinth and feature a hipped roof. There is a red brick ridge stack towards the left end and a slender rear stack on the right. The front has an irregular arrangement of three three-light casement windows, with one to the left and two to the right of the stack. Ground-floor windows have shallow sloping hoods. To the left of the left window, there is a boarded door, also with a sloping hood. A panelled door with a rectangular top light is located between the first and second windows from the right. A rear lean-to is present on the right side. The interior has not been inspected.
