Description

The Cottage is a house with a 19th-century facade built onto a probable 17th-century structure. It has a rendered exterior, a plain tile roof, and a low rendered plinth. The house is two storeys high with a garret, and features a half-hipped roof. A brick stack, constructed in stretcher bond, rises from the ridge to the right of centre. The windows are irregular, consisting of four casements with dripmoulds. These include a two-light window to the left, a two-light window below the stack, a three-light window between them, and a further window to the right end. Dripmoulds also appear on the ground-floor casements. Small two-light Gothic windows are located at each end of the garret. A door, with four fielded panels and a semi-circular hood, sits beneath the stack. A short rear return wing extends to the right, with tile hanging on the first floor and a half-hipped roof topped with a gable end stack. A further short rear wing is adjacent to the left side of this wing. A rear lean-to is located to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
