Description

The Wentways is an early to mid-19th century house constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a slate roof. It has gable end stacks. The front elevation has a regular three-window arrangement, featuring two recessed sixteen-pane sashes and a central twelve-pane sash window. The ground and first-floor windows are topped with splayed, painted voussoirs. A half-glazed door is centrally positioned, accompanied by a moulded architrave and a flat hood. A two-storey red brick addition, set back from the front, extends from the right gable end. The original door comprised six fielded panels and was topped with a rectangular fanlight. The property is included on the list because of its group value.
