Description

This is a table tomb commemorating members of the Fowler family, located approximately 4 yards south of the chancel of the Church of St. Mary and All Saints. It dates from the 19th century and features a stone structure resting on a stone base, with a moulded plinth and a corniced lid. The tomb has plain panels on either side of a recessed inscription panel, with a single roll moulding at the corners.

The west end is dedicated to Louisa Caroline, widow of Harry Stoeman R.N. and the youngest daughter of the late Edward Fowler of Cobtree, who died in 1878 at the age of 83. The south side honors Edward Fowler, a gentleman who passed away on August 9th, 1803, and also mentions Ann, the widow of Edward. The east end contains an inscription in memory of Jane, although it is largely illegible. The north side is dedicated to Elizabeth, the third daughter of Edward and Ann Fowler, who died on March 16, 1826.
