Description
This 19th-century oasthouse is located about 5 metres north-west of Great Tong, along Tong Lane in Headcorn. The building features small blocks of coursed stone with brick dressings used for the stowage area, while the kilns are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond. It has a plain tile roof and a rectangular stowage section that includes three circular kilns along the long rear (west) wall. The eaves bands are made of plain brick, and the kilns have conical roofs. The stowage area contains two sets of 2-light first-floor casement windows, with one light of each being boarded. There is a central door on the first floor and a ground floor door with a segmental head towards the left end of the stowage. Weather vanes are present on the kilns. The interior has not been inspected. This oasthouse is included for its group value.
