1/40 Reed Place Farmhouse II

Farmhouse, now house pair. Late C17 or early C18. Ground floor red and grey brick in Flemish bond, first floor tile-hung. Right gable end has exposed framing with brick infilling and lacing pieces to ground floor, and weatherboarded first floor. Plain tile roof. Lobby entry plan of 3 timber-framed bays. 2 storeys and garret on brick plinth. Half-hipped roof. Multiple red and grey brick ridge stack to left end of central bay. Irregular fenestration of 3 casements; two three-light and central two-light. Plain door with rectangular light under stack. Rear lean-to. Interior: exposed framing. Chamfered axial beam, bevelled joists, and plain brick fireplace with niche and wooden bressumer, to right ground-floor room. Similar but smaller fireplace to left. Rear wall of first-floor room has curved tension brace and plastered straw daub infilling. Stairs behind stack. Relatively small gunstock jowls to principal posts. Staggered butt purlin roof.
