Description

New Lodge House is a farmhouse, now a house, built in 1797 with later additions to the rear. It features chequered red and grey brick and has a plain tile roof. The building is two storeys tall and includes a brick plinth in English bond, a plat band, and a moulded eaves cornice with small Ionic modillions. The gables have gable end stacks with dentilled brick cornices.

The front facade has a regular arrangement of three windows, consisting of two tripartite sashes and a central 16-pane sash in open boxes. The ground floor has tripartite sashes with cambered heads to the architraves and rubbed brick voussoirs. The central door is made up of six fielded panels set in a panelled recess, topped by a semi-circular fanlight with radiating glazing bars. The door is framed by an architrave of engaged Ionic columns, topped with a moulded modillioned broken-based triangular pediment. To the left of the left stack, there is a date stone inscribed "R C 1797".

At the rear, there is a short return wing to the left, constructed with the same materials, featuring a parapet and two 12-pane sashes. There is an extension to the left wing, which is slightly set back, with a red and grey brick ground floor and a tile-hung first floor, along with a gable end stack. The right rear wing is recessed from the right gable end and flush with the left extension, featuring a half-hipped roof. Additionally, there is a further brick and tile-hung rear block with a moulded wooden eaves cornice and a hipped roof, adjoining the rear right corner of the right rear wing. The interior has not been inspected.
