Description

Rose Hill is a 17th-century farmhouse. It is timber-framed, with the ground floor constructed of red and grey brick in Flemish bond, and the first floor tile-hung. The roof is tiled, with a half-hipped design. The house has a lobby entry plan, two storeys, and a garret, set on a brick plinth. The eaves of the left gable end are slightly jettied, supported by an ovolo-moulded bressumer. A central brick ridge stack rises from the roof. The front facade has a regular two-window arrangement with three-light casement windows. A central timber door is sheltered by a flat, floating hood. There are short, timber-framed rear wings to the right and centre, each with a half-hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected, but is believed to contain chamfered stone fireplaces.
