Description
Ragstone is a house dating from the mid-19th century. It is built of uncoursed ragstone with ashlar dressings and has a plain tile roof. The house is arranged in an H-shape, built at a right angle to the road. It has one-and-a-half storeys, with gables featuring cusped bargeboards and moulded pendants. The roof of the narrow central section slopes down to rustic posts, creating a lean-to shelter between the wings. A right-hand rear wing has an attic roof that is set at a right angle and juts out to the road on its right side. There are three pairs of octagonal brick stacks: one to each gable end and one to the rear to the left, each with moulded cornices, plinths, stone bases. A gabled dormer window is situated in the centre of the central section. Each gable end has a two-light leaded casement window, with a canted bay window on the ground floor below. A half-glazed door is located on the right end of the central section. The interior of the house was not inspected.
