Description

A barn, dating to the 17th century, stands approximately 25 metres southwest of Verrells Cottages. The barn is timber-framed and clad in weatherboarding, with a hipped plain tile roof featuring gablets. It comprises three timber-framed bays with a central midstrey, positioned at a right angle to, but some distance from, the road. A weatherboarded porch with double doors and a hipped plain tile roof is located on the west side. Lean-to additions extend from the north side of the porch and the south gable end. The interior features gunstock-jowled principal posts, arch-braced tie-beams, and raked jowled queen posts clasping purlins. Intermediate trusses have queen posts but unjowled principal posts. The infilling above the midrail consists of lath and straw daub. Verrells Cottages are not listed.
