Description
Mile Bush Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1715, with alterations made in the mid to late 20th century. The ground floor is constructed of red and grey brick in Flemish bond, while the first floor is tile-hung. The left gable end features broadly-spaced studding with brick infilling and lacing pieces. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has a half-hipped design. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a ragstone plinth at the rear and boxed eaves. A central brick ridge stack is present, along with three hipped two-light dormers. The windows are arranged irregularly, consisting of three casements: two three-light and a central two-light. The central entrance has a half-glazed door, topped by a bracketed gabled door hood with a coved plastered soffit and raised decoration that includes the inscription "PC . 17 15". At the rear, there is a two-storey stair turret that was increased in height in the 20th century, along with lean-tos on both the right and left sides. Inside, the farmhouse features exposed framing, cut jowls on the principal posts, curved bracing, and a staggered butt purlin roof.
