Description
Milton War Memorial is made of Portland stone and is situated within the churchyard of St Peter’s and St Paul's Church. The memorial features a Latin cross atop a square shaft with a moulded base. The shaft rises from a square plinth, which also has a moulded base. Each face of the plinth includes a raised panel that is incised with the names of those who fell in service.
The moulded base of the shaft has raised lettering that reads "TO THE GLORY OF GOD." The dedication continues on the moulded base, stating "AND IN HONOUR OF THOSE WHO GAVE/ THEIR LIVES FOR LIBERTY AND JUSTICE/ IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 – 1918."
The memorial is positioned on a raised platform made of York stone crazy paving, which is original to the time of the memorial's erection.
