Description

No 16 High Street is a timber-framed building that was refronted in the early 19th century. It has two storeys. The northeast wall reveals the original timber framing with brick infilling, while the front facing the street is now covered in stucco, featuring long and short quoins and an eaves cornice. The roof is tiled. The building has two sash windows, although the glazing bars are missing. There are also two small later 19th-century shop windows and two doorcases that have pilasters and a projecting cornice supported on consoles. No 16 is part of a group that includes Nos 16 to 24 (even), 24A, Kings House, and Nos 28 and 30.
